This piece is mostly awesome. There are one or two things that could be improved upon. However i will start with what is good. The whole concept of this image is terrific. The fade on the sunglasses and gun make the image cool on a subliminal levels. All of the smaller details that only the subconscious notices really add to the feel of this piece. Now for the critiquing part of this. To start, I think that having at least part of the cap to the bottle, maybe off to the side partially, would really add to the image. I know that i said that the blur was good, however I believe that slightly less blur on the entire image would improve the impact the image has. additionally, while the cropping of the image in some cases can be good, the image impact would probably benefit if all parts of the image were able to be seen in full. Cropping parts of the sunglasses and the gun really takes away from their importance in the image. I will say in closing that this image is almost at its peak level of artistic, i hesitate to say perfection, but the peak level of performance for this piece has almost been achieved, but those small things would really make all the difference
I'm getting a lot of people who see that. The concept was born of a heated argument on gun control but I tried to keep my own opinion out of it and see what it made people think of. I've been pretty surprised. For instance my mother said it reminded her of her mother who used to store everything from spices to nails in old pill bottles.
